The First Selectman is a full-time elected position that serves as the civilian Chief of Police and the Director of Public Works. The First Selectman administers the work of all municipal employees, excluding Board of Education employees. This office also serves as the town's Human Resources and Social Services departments and represents the town on the Board of Directors of the Northeast CT Council of Governments.
