The Sterling Town Clerk serves as the Recorder of Deeds and Registrar of Vital Statistics.
The Town Clerk provides a wide range of services, including, but not limited to, recording land and vital records, issuing all sport licenses and deer/turkey tags, dog licenses, Marriage licenses, vendor permits, Liquor permits, and Trade Name Certificates. We also issue Absentee Ballots, register voters, record and index Military Discharges.
The Town Clerk's assistant shall, in the absence or inability of the Town Clerk, have all the powers and perform all the duties of the Town Clerk.
Sterling Land Records Online
Please keep in mind that while the index is available back to Volume 23, the images are a work in progress. We currently have images scanned back through Volume 59+ and are available to you. Older images will be scanned in as time permits. There is a fee of $2 per page when printing from the online website; however, if you are local and have the time to come in, they can be printed in the office for $1 per page.
