Note from the Registrars

The Registrars of Voters Office is responsible for Federal, State, and Local Elections, primaries, referendums, and caucuses, maintaining all voter files, registering new voters and conducting voter making sessions, appointing and training election officials, conducting the annual canvass of voters as well as providing timely reports to the Secretary of States office. The registrars will be happy to answer any questions about the voting process by phone, email or in person.

Voter Registration 

Register online to vote.

To register in Connecticut, you must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen
  • Be a resident of a Connecticut municipality
  • Be at least 18 years of age on or before the next election
  • Not be convicted of a felony
  • Registration forms may be obtained online and in many public places, including libraries, motor vehicles offices, supermarkets, town and state offices.
  • Your registration is subject to the approval of the municipal registrars of voters.
